In the Beginning...

May 18, 2015, the day we bought the bus. It is a 2002 Thomas, on a Freightliner chassis, with a Cummins 5.9 liter diesel engine and Allison transmission. We found it on Craigslist.
The front tires are new, and the rears have nice tread, but are starting to show their age.

The Cummins engine is a factory rebuilt unit, and should be good for a long time.

The body is in very nice shape, with only a couple of quarter-sized rust spots.

It is a low headroom bus. You can see the roof step down behind the driver's seat. Interior headroom is about 6'.

The build tag says it has a capacity of 71, and the cabin is about 30' long, and overall length is about 37'.

The bus is almost 8' wide, and 9 1/2' tall at the rear.

There are 11 sets of windows on each side, for 22 rows of seats.

The rear suspension is air ride, as is the driver's seat.
