1 Shade Of Gray.

My friend Scott showed up early to paint the bus for us. A little too early, in fact. The dew hadn't burned off yet, and we didn't have all of the masking done.

He started spraying the Rustoleum Smoke Gray on the roof while we worked on the masking.

Starting down the center, he worked his way toward the edge.

Our boys Jake and Brandyn hurried to get the windows masked, so Scott could paint the passenger side.

There sure are a lot of windows to cover.

I masked off the front end, including turn signals, hood latches, and the handle used to raise and lower the hood.

The ladder turned out to be easier to paint from than the scaffold.

Scott did a nice job keeping the paint off the windows. We also had to trim the crabapple tree to give him enough room.

The rear lights were quite a big job to mask. We also taped off the rubber around the windows. The rear windows are next.

Scott made steady progress on the roof.

Late in the day, here is the view from the scaffold on the left, and the garage roof on the right

By nightfall we had all the glass covered.

The upper flashing lights and clearance lamps are all that is left to mask.

Nice rear end!

Scott was back early the next day to work on the sides.

We were starting to see what the end result would look like. The yellow will become red, and the black will stay black.

The paint is still a little thin on the sides, so he kept laying it on.

The Cummins was the best place to stand to reach above the windshield.

The passenger side is done.

The driver's side is, too.

2 gallons of Smoke Gray later...

The first color is done. Two more colors to go.

Looks pretty good from here.
