What a Stud!

We began framing the interior on the 4th of July. This is the beginning of the Master Bedroom wall.

We didn't draw up a floor plan, we did our planning on the floor. The scraps on the floor were rearranged until we found what we wanted.

All of the walls were placed centered on the window frames, so we would have something to attach them to. We used self tapping screws through the studs into the steel.

Bedroom wall, looking forward. The rear roof hatch ended up in the master bedroom.

Once we figured out the method, we moved ahead 3 windows and built an identical wall. We then connected them with 2x4's to make the bunk beds.

Looking back at the bunks from the front.

Rear hatch. Someday we will install a rooftop air conditioner there.

We only used a tape measure and a string during framing, but it worked out nicely!

Looking back, the kitchen will be on the left side, and the potty and pantry will be on the right side.

Our Michigan International Speedway infield pass! The whole reason for this project!

It's a very nice campsite, close to the bathrooms and showers, as well as the track.

Once the bathroom and pantry walls were built, I started on the dining booth.

Wifey found the cushions at a thrift store, and I built the booth to fit them.

A friend of mine donated a new composting toilet. I later removed the shelf, and built a lower platform for it.

Logan approves the booth, as does Felix.

With our deadline looming, the key word was "functional".

We took the range and sink out of the old pop-up camper. We laid them out on the floor to figure out what would go where. We decided to put the range as far from the wall as possible.

I cut in all the upper and lower framing, so we had somewhere to attach the walls at the floor and ceiling. Some are attached to the bus's ribs, and some are simply wedged in.

Our friend Joel donated some new cabinet doors, as well as the Solid Surface counter top and booth table. A sample of the counter top is leaning against the bunk.
